I WAS SHOCKED AT WHAT I SAW

WHAT I SAW INSIDE THIS A/C MADE ME SICK!

As a mold consultant, I should not have been surprised to find the inside of this a/c plenum covered with so much mold growth – but I was - because there was no hints anywhere in the house- no visible mold on the air registers or leaks, which are the usual suspects.

As a home inspector and mold consultant, I perform inspections with an eye looking for environments that can result in mold growth. So… when I opened the provided access door for the attic air handler - this is what I found.

EVERY unit should have an easily openable door so that even a homeowner can view the interior. And every new home buyer of a pre-owned home should have a mold inspection.
